Testimonies

For over a decade, Words To Works has teamed with mission groups, summer interns and other groups to bring the Good News to the community of north Jacksonville.  Together we have changed lives and changed communities.  In the process, we have changed ourselves.  It is our hope that you, too, will join us!

If you have joined us in the past as a mission team member or a summer intern, please share your experiences on the blogs below.  Whether you came for an afternoon at Washington Heights or a week of construction, your testimony may be just what someone needs to read to believe that they too can be the hands and feet that carry the Gospel to others.

If you would like your photo to show with your blog, you must first become a member and load the photo into your profile.  Then, while still logged in, post your blog.  The photo will appear next to your comments.

Late Nights @ His Warehouse is our unique 24-hour mission trip. On Friday evening, groups open up the warehouse to feed, entertain and minister to the adult community that populates Main Street on a Friday night. The next morning, after breakfast, they work in the Compassion Center, on a construction project or some other community outreach. Then after lunch it's off to Washington Heights for a children's day camp. 24-hours, three mission fields ~ maximum impact in minimum time!!! If you've participated in this ministry, share with others your experience.  You might be just the person to help them overcome the coefficient of friction and get moving!

If you are a parent, pastor or leader of a student or group who went on a mission trip or served as a summer intern with Words To Works Ministries, please share your observations of the impact of the trip.  You probably had some concerns before they left, some expectations of what they would garner from their experiences.  Others are going through the same thing.  Share with them what you saw happen in your child or group.  You may give them some peace in the decision process.

Every summer, Words To Works Ministries is blessed to have students come and serve as interns. These 16- to 21-year-olds devote up to ten weeks, working in every capacity that is necessary to run a mission program. They are truly stretched, given great responsibilities, and in the process, they grow in maturity and in their walk with the Lord. Many come back to serve again, and most stay in touch with one another for years to come. We invite our former interns to share their experiences on this blog.

One of the joys of mission is to witness the enthusiasm with which youth embrace their opportunites. Middle school, high school, college,.... They bring a fresh, bold approach to all they do. For many, their Words To Works mission trip was their first experience with front-line witnessing. For many, it was their first experience with inner-city life. We invite them to share their experiences here. Perhaps theirs will be the words that will help a hesitant young person to believe that he too can share the Gospel with others as well!

Words To Works Ministries is a year 'round outreach and, as a result, is a great opportunity for senior groups.  We tailor trips to meet their schedule, their interests and their abilities.  If you want to serve the Lord, we want to give you every opportunity to do so.  If you are a senior who has served alongside us, please share your experience with others.  Perhaps you are just the person to help others realize that they still have a lot to give!

Often, mission trips are arranged for specific age groups: high school, college, seniors.  But sometimes a church will just put it out there as an opportunity for the whole church.  And what an experience that can be!  Friendships made, relationships stregthened, memories created, salvations won!  Please share your inter-generational mission trip experience with us and others.  Perhaps you will encourage another church to try it and find out they like it!
